Wyoming Reads 2017 – Book Stuffing Party!

Our annual “Wyoming Reads” book stuffing party will be on Tuesday, May 2nd at 4 pm in the Crawford Room of the Natrona County Library. For those who have not participated in the activity in the past, it is the day we insert the children’s personalized bookplate in their book and get the books and other items into the book bags for distribution at the celebration on May 16th. Typically we are finished by about 5:30 if we have enough help. As always, there will be treats galore.

The books are being delivered to the locations around the state thanks to the fantastic folks at our library who now handle all the shipping for us. Quite an operation!

It will probably come as no surprise but the children’s most chosen book this year was “Goovy Joe.” It was selected by 1,889 children or 30% of all the participants. Once again Laramie County will be having the largest celebration with 1,300 children participating. First Lady Carol Mead will again join us here in Casper for our celebration and we’ve requested the Governor to proclaim May 16th as Wyoming Literacy Day.

We look forward to seeing you on May 3rd!!
