Wyoming Reads 2020 – Newsletter #1

August 16, 2019

How can it already be time to start thinking about “Wyoming Reads”? Where did our summer go? We hope, however, it has been a good time for you and yours.

  • 2019 Wrap Up: May 14th marked the 2019 celebration as we, with your incredible assistance, provided nearly 7500 Wyoming first graders with their very own personalized hardback book. Each of you puts your own special touches on the celebration in your community. Without your efforts there is no way we could possibly accomplish all that has to happen.
  • 2020 Book Selection:  We are asking our Steering Committee to meet at 4:00 p.m. on September 18th at Hilltop National Bank in Casper to select the menu of six (6) book titles to be offered in 2020. If you care to join us that afternoon you are certainly welcome. We will distribute another newsletter as soon as we can after that day to let you know this year’s selections.
  • 2020 “Wyoming Reads” Celebration: May 12, 2020 has been chosen as the date for next year’s “Wyoming Reads” event. Please get this on your calendar as well as the calendar of your school district(s). Let us know if there will be a conflict in your community.  It is not too soon to begin reserving your celebration.
  • Community Contacts: We know that many staff changes occur every year in the schools and public libraries. Would each recipient of this letter please respond either confirming your participation or directing us to the proper individual? We continue to be truly humbled and honored by all the support we receive across the state.

As always, we very much look forward to working with you on “Wyoming Reads”. This will be the 15th anniversary of the event on a statewide basis (and our 22nd year overall here in Casper!) Thank you, again, for your amazing support and for what you do for the children of our state!
