BOOK STUFFING: APRIL 30th
Mark your calendars for the annual book stuffing party on Thursday, April 30th at 4 p.m. in the Crawford Room at the Natrona County Public Library. We hope you’ll be able to join us. We seem to have streamlined the process and usually finish in about 1.5 hours.
WYOMING READS DAY: MAY 12th
We encourage you to hold your Wyoming Reads celebration on May 12th, which will be declared Wyoming Literacy Day by Governor Mark Gordon. Please make it a memorable day for your first graders, celebrating the joy of reading and launching them into summer reading.
For those new coordinators, here is a brief snapshot of what takes place in Casper. Our celebration for Natrona County will be held on Tuesday, May 12th beginning at 11:00 am. The school district buses the students & staff to the Library and we divide them into three groups. We will present the books to the children and perform the “Good Queen Sue” fairy tale at the Nicolaysen Art Museum. Our celebrity readers are set up at the Library and read to small groups from the new books excited first graders are holding. Picnic lunches will be provided on the lawns at the Nic. Our last session winds up around 12:40 pm, and the buses take everyone back to school.
SPECIAL GUEST
This year First Lady Jenny Gordon has agreed to join us in Casper for our celebration! This will be her first time to join us for the festivities.
JOINING FORCES
As always, we encourage communities to consider joining forces with neighboring towns. The bigger and more exciting we can make each celebration, the more memorable it will be for the children.
We hope to see you at 4 p.m. on April 30th at the Library!
Thank you for all your support,
John Jorgensen, Founder
